Vitality Pumpkin Spice Latte

Writer's picture: Anita PerrigoAnita Perrigo

Did someone say pumpkin? I pretty much love everything pumpkin. And at this time of year, I find myself craving a creamy, hot latte every now and then. Instead of indulging in sugar laden artificially flavoured lattes, I whip up my own at home using real, natural ingredients.

I've added powdered collagen to this recipe. It's completely optional. I like it for it's creaminess and, as a bonus, it helps to promote healthy nails, skin, and joints, and plays a role in gut health. Now that's upgrading your latte!

Here's the recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups unsweetened milk of your choice (coconut milk gives a naturally sweet taste)

4 Tbsp pureed pumpkin

2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/2 nutmeg, 1/4 tsp cloves)

2 Tbsp real maple syrup (or to taste)

1 Tbsp collagen (optional)

2 shots of espresso divided

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Warm milk in a milk steamer/frother or warm in a pot on the stove on low.

  2. Once milk is warmed, pour into a blender with the remaining ingredients (other than espresso) and blend until mixed and frothy.

  3. Divide mixture between two mugs pouring over a shot of espresso.

  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg and enjoy! 😋

🎃 Do you love pumpkin? I'd love to know what some of your favourite pumpkin treats are this time of year. 🧡
